Welcome To My EchoIRLP Section !

After many successful years of Echolinking, I wanted to experiment with IRLP.
This way, if any of our repeater users wanted to check into our repeater while
traveling, they had options.

There are specific operating policies for using this node, Please follow them, Thanks...

     Echolink
EchoLink® software allows licensed Amateur Radio stations to communicatewith one another
over the Internet, using voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology.

     IRLP
The IRLP uses Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) custom software
and hardware.  Coupled with the power of the Internet.

If you make your own web page, this is a definite must have. It is beyond simple!

IRLP NODE 4265

ECHOLINK NODE 1224

Hosted on the K2ATT Repeater in Old Bethpage.

          NODE STATUS :
     EchoIRLP
Used on an IRLP based link to add Echolink capabilities
EchoIRLP is a developing project with a goal to share hardware and software resources for IRLP and EchoLink systems.  The EchoIRLP web site explains this project in more detail.  Software is installed that allows the W2YMM IRLP node Linux computer system to connect to EchoLink network nodes.  There are multiple related projects underway to accomplish this capability.  You may hear of them referred to as EchoLinux, theBridge, as well as EchoIRLP.

The software we have installed on the W2YMM IRLP node is referred to as the "EchoIRLP" Node.

What this software does or does not do:

    * does not allow you to cross connect the IRLP and EchoLink networks together.
    * does provide the W2YMM IRLP node access to available EchoLink clients and conferences.
    * does provide the W2YMM Echolink node access to available IRLP nodes and reflectors.
    * does allow EchoLink clients to connect to the W2YMM-R EchoLink node number 1224.
    * does allow IRLP stations to connect to the W2YMM IRLP node number 4265.
    * There are now Special IRLP Reflectors that cross link to Echolink Conferences.

Note, at times we are filtering EchoLink PC client nodes that connect to the W2YMM-R system.  EchoLink repeaters, links and conferences are not filtered.  Outgoing connections from W2YMM-R are also not filtered. This was implemented due to the number of silent connections, mostly from EchoLink PC clients.  If you wish to have your callsign added to the allow list send me an email by clicking here.

The following DTMF code list controls the operation of the W2YMM-R EchoIRLP node. You will see the operation is very similar to using IRLP.  General Echolink controls would be prefixed with * (star). This insures Echolink node numbers are differentiated from IRLP node numbers.  Contact me if  you have any questions or problems.

There are some timers in the system to be aware of.
Inactivity timer node to node is 4 minutes, and
15 minutes for a Conference server / reflector.
Echolink Connections Time out after 15 minutes.
(Control Ops can override the timers)

K2ATT Repeater Time out Timer is 3 minutes.

** The EchoIRLP node will now be listen only between 12:30 am and 5:45 am.  **
Outgoing DTMF tones will not be decoded
Incoming calls will still work

Always Identify yourself before sending and DTMF tones.
                Echolink and IRLP 10 Commandments

1. Thou Shall Leave 3 to 4 Seconds between all overs.

2. Thou Shall not Connect to more than one Conference Server at a time

3. Thou Shall restrict local repeater Id's from entering the IP Network

4. Thou Shall Keep all overs to a maximum of 3 Minutes.

5. Thou Shall Not Force other Links or Repeaters into a Multi Conference.

6. Thou Shall Listen on a Clear Frequency before attempting a
     Connection to a remote station.

7. Thou Shall Listen for at least 10 Seconds before transmitting
after connecting to a remote station.

8. Thou Shall always announce ones Call Sign before sending DTMF
    Commands to a System

9. Thou Shall inhibit DTMF tones from being transmitted though the IP
    Network.

10. All Commandments are final.
